Dr. Gerald Early joins Pullman Regional Hospital as new Chief Medical & Innovation Officer

Dec 1, 2015

Gerald Early, M.D., is the new Chief Medical & Innovation Officer at Pullman Regional Hospital. Dr. Early comes to Pullman from Truman Medical Centers in Kansas City, Missouri, where he practiced thoracic surgery and held an academic appointment as an associate professor of medicine at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He is triple board certified in general surgery, critical care and cardiothoracic surgery. He has extensive experience in clinical quality initiatives and patient safety activities.

“Dr. Early will bring meaningful new experiences and insights to strengthen the hospital’s performance and continue our progress in serving the community,” said Scott Adams, CEO of Pullman Regional Hospital.

“This community and this hospital have made good decisions about health and healthcare,” said Dr. Early. “Those good decisions resulted in success during a tumultuous time. I believe that healthcare reform will continue to be a prominent political and social challenge and I’m excited to be part of this team during these exciting times in medicine.”

The position continues the work of Richard Caggiano, M.D. who retired in October after serving for five years as the chief medical officer and 13 years as the director of Emergency Medicine. The duty of focusing on the hospital’s innovation in the delivery of care is an additional aspect of the position that Dr. Early will address.
