You have options
Midwifery – Pullman Regional Hospital is the only hospital in Southwestern Washington that has a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) as an option for in-hospital delivery. Our hospital-based midwifery service focuses on high quality, low-intervention care. Midwifery care is based on the assumption that most pregnancies, labors and births are normal processes that result in healthy outcomes for both mothers and babies. Midwives are trained to recognize problems when they arise and seek medical expertise and interventions when necessary. Midwifery care gives women an option in their health care. CMNs offer a hands-on approach and supportive relationships with patients before, during, and after birth. Although assisting in natural childbirth is one of their strengths, a nurse midwives’ primary goal is to help their clients make the choices that are right for them and their babies, including medications during labor. Bobbi Bennett Wolcott is the first CNM to deliver babies at Pullman Regional Hospital. She began providing this service through Palouse Medical in April of 2016.
